Hey There
I’m Gina — founder of Husk & Haze, lover of rich textures, bold palettes, and florals with attitude.
Based in the Waikato, I create sculptural dried designs that lean moody, modern and a little wild.
When I’m not in the studio, you’ll usually find me at the beach, deep in a fantasy novel, or chasing the kids while mentally redesigning whatever flowers I just walked past. Husk & Haze is my way of turning everyday chaos into something artful — florals that feel intentional, expressive, and built to last.
All About Me
I didn’t come into florals the traditional way.
In 2022, I decided to design all my own wedding flowers — no training, no plan, just stubborn confidence and a whole lot of dried blooms. My bouquet turned into bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnières, table pieces, signage florals… and basically an entire wedding full of DIY chaos and caffeine.

What started as one project turned into an obsession with texture, structure and the way dried florals can hold mood and movement long after the moment has passed.
I realised I wasn’t just making decorations — I was building pieces that felt personal, modern, and a little dramatic.

So I kept going.
Husk & Haze became the place where I could create florals that don’t feel fluffy or predictable — pieces with depth, contrast and presence. Designs that feel like art, not filler. Something you keep, style, or hold onto long after the day is over.
