Hey There
I’m Gina — wife, mother of two, and founder of Husk & Haze. Based in Waikato, NZ, I spend my days crafting wild keepsakes and preserved blooms that capture nature’s quiet beauty. Beyond the studio, you’ll often find me in the water at the beach, lost in a good fantasy book, colouring in with the kids, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. For me, Husk & Haze isn’t just about florals — it’s about slowing down, finding magic in everyday moments, and creating something lasting to hold onto.
All About Me
In 2022, I decided to do all my own wedding florals. No training. No clue. Just a can of glitter spray, way too much confidence, and a very patient husband who got used to pulling over on random country roads so I could hack down toetoe and bunny tails like a woman possessed.

I grew flowers in our garden, dried half the backyard, and the first flowers my husband ever bought me weren’t a romantic bouquet — they were a bulk box of dried blooms so I could DIY my own. And I did: my bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets, my daughter’s flower wand, buttonholes, flowers for the tables, the neon sign backdrop, the welcome sign, the seating chart — everything.
After the wedding, I couldn’t let them go. So I gave them a second life in vases, mirrors, and random corners of the house that still sparkle faintly from too much glitter spray and late-night panic. And that’s how Husk & Haze was born: out of love, hustle, caffeine, and a bit of wild roadside foraging.
